Veneziani New Collection

 Ciao a tutti! Vi ricordate il mio post dedicato alla rinascita del brand italiano Veneziani? Oggi voglio raccontarvi della loro collezione nuova. Colorata e allo stesso tempo sofisticata, la collezione Veneziani SS2016 è pensata per una donna cosmopolita e indipendente, una donna contemporanea vista attraverso le lenti feline di Jole Veneziani, che le conferiscono un tocco decisamente glamour.

E' così che borse dal carattere timeless convivono armoniosamente con forme più urbane e versatili: accanto a modelli iconici e immediatamente riconoscibili come la Petite Malise e Norma, proposta per la prima volta anche in versione Petite, i nuovi modelli Noemi e Alex si distinguono per modernità e funzionalità. L'innovativa Petite Alex, in particolare, può essere  portata, a seconda delle occasioni, come borsa a mano, tracolla o backpack.

I colori accesi che tanto amava Jole Veneziani caratterizzano tutta la collezione, dal rosa profondo al manganese violet fino ad un inedito lime, accanto agli immancabili nero, nude e verde Veneziani.

La preziosità delle lavorazioni e dei materiali, che da sempre contraddistinguono le borse Veneziani, si declinano questa stagione in un sorprendente pitone dai riflessi boreali e in un lussuoso pitone dorato con incrostazioni ricamate.

 I ricami, rigorosamente eseguiti a mano, rimandano direttamente all'Archivio Veneziani, fonte inesauribile di ispirazione: dal raffinato intarsio di petali su pelle, ispirato a un bozzetto di Lino Pellizzoni, alle gocce di paillettes riprese da un abito in voile degli Anni Sessanta, dalle macro pietre pop applicate su rafia allo straordinario ricamo di fiori da cui spunta, ironico, il volto di Jole Veneziani che sembra volerci ricordare, con un'unica frase, lo spirito dell'intera collezione: “Lei ha mai visto qualcosa di più generoso di un fiore? Non chiede che acqua e dà profumo, bellezza e colore”. 

Carlo Volpi

Ciao a tutti! Come vi avevo promesso, dedico il post alla moda maschile! Oggi vi parlo di un ragazzo molto in gamba, che crea delle maglie pazzesche. Si chiama Carlo Volpi. "Dal 2014 ho iniziato il mio brand quasi come un progetto personale perché oltre agli altri lavori come freelance designer che facevo volevo avere qualcosa di personale che mi lasciasse libertà di portare avanti la mia visione,"- racconta Carlo.

Al momento  Carlo produce sia a Londra nel suo studio che in Italia, tutto è fatto a mano perché le sue maglie sono abbastanza complicate da poter produrre tramite maglifici. "Vivo a Londra dal 1998, decisi di trascorrere un'estate qui per lavorare un po' e migliorare il mio inglese, ma dopo  tre mesi decisi di rimanere qui. Successivamente mi iscrissi al Goldsmiths College dove ho studiato Textiles e qualche anno dopo mi sono iscritto al Royal College of Art dove ho fatto un Master in maglieria."

"Carlo, le tue creazioni sono solo per uomini?"

"In teoria le mie creazioni sono per uomo, ma non sono molto "maschili" nel senso più stretto della parola."

Il suo brand nasce dalla sua passione per la maglieria, però con questa collezione Carlo ha  deciso di includere anche pezzi che non sono realizzati a maglia. "Per me è sempre molto importante avere un concetto dietro alla collezione che non sia semplicemente un'ispirazione puramente visuale, per 0LOVE 4LOVE (la sua ultima collezione ) mi sono ispirato alla banalità delle canzoni d'amore che passano in radio.  Con 0LOVE 4LOVE ho cercato di sviluppare un linguaggio semplice, immediato, con grafiche e colori forti, che attirano subito l'attenzione, un po' come un logo." La collezione include una quindicina di pezzi, principalmente maglie, qualche felpa leggera con delle stampe all over, dei pantaloni in chiffon con termosaldature in neoprene realizzate in collaborazione con Dyloan Studio. I must have sicuramente sono una tuta coloratissima e un bomber in pelle con un pattern di cuori."

"Carlo, puoi descrivere la persona che sceglie  DI indossare le tue creazioni?"  

"L'uomo che sceglie il mio brand ha uno spirito giovane, e' sicuro di sé e ha uno stile e un senso della moda molto personali: non ha regole, non segue la moda, ma ha un'idea sua di "cool".

" Oltre knitwear produci anche degli accessori? Hai mai pensato anche ad una linea di scarpe o borse per esempio?"

"Si, di recente ho lanciato anche una line adi accessori (sciarpe) che vendo a Darkroom, un negozio indipendente qui a Londra che tra l'altro ha anche una filiale a Selfridges.

This brand was founded by Becki Coakley who is  also the creative director. Becki Coakley produces a woman's luxury line made of the best materials and Made in Italy.

Her latest collection is called the "Intro collection." It is made up of 

9 designs that includes: 2 pumps, 1 bootie, and 6 other sandal style, 

open-toe designs.  "I decided to do this collection of all high heels 

because I really wanted to introduce myself and really emphasize the 

styles that I love designing and also love wearing the most,"- says Becki.  "The 

designs were all named after women that are very important to me in my 

life and that have made a huge impact."

 In this collection Becki  was inspired by a lot of lines and 

symmetry. "I pulled inspiration from various architecture, landscapes, 

and personal styles of myself and others. My mother who has passed influenced me heavily on this collection by her personal style."

 napa, calfskin leathers and suede. 


"Becki, can you describe a woman who chooses your shoes?"  "The Becki Coakley woman is one that is self-confident and not one to shy away from the right kind of attention because she will definitely be the center of attention, when she wears on of my creations. She will get complimented over and over on her shoes. She is also a woman whose style tends to be classic, chic, sophisticated, but also sexy and unique. I imagine her to be professional with a go getter attitude that loves beautiful shoes!"



 "Do you also produce some other accessories?  "Not at this time, I want to totally focus on shoes, but in the future who knows, what else i may decide to get into..."



 "Fashion advise from Becki Coakley?" "My fashion advice to others is 

to be true to yourself and to make sure that you have the necessary 

staples in your closet. Also, in regards to shoes especially, I can't 

emphasize enough that quality is so much better than quantity. 

Quality shoes and items might cost you more upfront but it will save 

you so much in the long run because they will last so much longer and 

will turn out to be a great investment. So my advice is to invest in

"Despite being in the fashion industry, I am quite skeptic about the concept of “fashion” or being “fashionable”. To me it means following the masses, often without much consideration of one’s individuality. A fashionable trend can very quickly loose its appeal and worth due to overuse and misuse.  Having said that, my fashion advice is – be aware of fashion! Know yourselves. Know what you like and what you need, know what works for you and suits you and your lifestyle."

 Hello guys! I  never stop to discover new brands. Today I'm gonna introduce Afyda Antara, very talented designer, who has created her own brand. This brand is quite young, it was founded in 2012. "I’m currently based in Besançon (France), my hometown  is near the Swiss border and i’m the only creative designer", says Afyda. 

Afyda Antara produces high-end ready-to-wear clothing, mainly dresses, shirts and jackets for women and a shirt called le COLart (with interchangable leather collars) for Women, Men and Children.

Afyda also designs custom-made clothes and accessories for her clients. 

I’ll launch my first collection of leather jackets for Men in 2016 and a new line of Womenswear and accessories."

"Afyda , tell us about your latest collection. What kind of fabrics and materials are dominated in it?" "I  always use leather in my creations , especially in my latest collection- alone or mixed with different types of fabrics (denim, knitwear, wool, « toile de Jouy »...). For this collection I found inspiration in our european military History - from the Antiquity to the Napoleonian wars, so you’ll find pieces poetically called « Brigandine » or « Aketon » (types of  medieval body armour). The researches and design were quite fun and very instuctive".

 "Which piece of this collection is the must_have?" "The must-haves will depend on your personal taste but the « Hussard » leather jacket  seems to get the most attention. The collection is still incomplete and will be available on January 16. 

 "Afyda, do you also produce accessories?" "Yes, i’m currently working on a new line of bags for Men and Women. The first pictures will be released soon .

 "Can you describe a public that your creations are destinated to?" "My clients are mainly trendsetters and people involved in or addicted to fashion, looking for original one-of-a-kind pieces. Recently, I also try to create more accessible (and affordable) pieces like Le COLart shirt or small accessories like the PaTCH winter cap, which are easier to match with any  everyday look.
